Pictures are included in my recent post of finished turnings..... I mixed up the long/short barrels on a cigar - just grabbed 'em off the bench w/o thinking. Oh well.
Cigars always take me longer to do because I always have to check and double check that I have the barrels and bushings all aligned correctly...especially when turning a single barrel at a time. I only mixed the barrels up once, but that was enough to make me very careful with that kit now - there is no good way to correct that mistake that I have figured out.
Zac it happens to everybody , I call it " Head in Arse Syndrome". Also Ive learned to get over it real quick , and I hate to tell u the older u get the more it will happen. Boodrow
I'll check, re-check, and then check them again. Turn the blanks round, turn the lathe off and check the bushings and the blank lenght with a caliper. Walk over to the 'book', get the directions and check everything again!!!
So far so good, but I'm wasting about 20 minutes just checking the measurements five times.... Thought this was supposed to be fun? Well, cigar kits aren't... But I love the way the wood does on them!
