I don't know if anyone saw the post, but...... Yup!! The rifle sold yesterday to a really nice guy, and I got home yesterday a made my finally decision.
I had thought hard about the Jet 10 x 14 VS lathe, but it wasn't quite what I wanted. So I ordered the JET 1220VS Mini Lathe!!! Now I've got to wait for the big brown truck(or whomever they will get to send it).
Probably didn't get the best deal, but shipping will be free. So that should offset the cost difference that may be out there. Being no local dealers(within 250miles) of me, my choices were limited.....but I didn't have to pay taxes either!!
Now the waiting starts.....did I say how much I hate waiting?
Scott (where's that truck) B

Congrats Scott. You are going to love it. What kind of turnings do you want to do? First thing I'm going to do is fix this 'experimental shooting stick'! I need to get these ready to go as I already have customers waiting to puchase them..... I'd also like to try those "Bullet Pens", I think they would do well as a possible 'side sale' item with my other hunting/shooting items. And maybe expand into predator calls....but I'm not sure about that yet..... And I'm pretty positive I'll be making a LOT of shavings!!!! Scott (standing in sawdust soon) B

Oh yes, I remember the shooting sticks and the lathe should solve that problem for you. Th Cartridge pens will be a very nice combination to go with the shooting sticks. I have found that hunters like antler the most for the upper portion.
The Cartridge pen is also a very good kit to start with because it only uses a single barrel and the size is easy to work with. It does have some issues with assembly - I ruined my first one before I figured it out. The assembly instructions are not all that great.
