More Pine Cone work...I gotta build the inventory back up for the next craft show. I never know what a cone is going to look like on the inside until it gets turned. These two turned out much different - one with lots of pine nuts and the other with none at all. It's all part of the fun of making them Here is the nutty one. And here is the other one.

I like the nuttier one better as out at the tip it seems like it's tried to twist. Plus, the nuts give it some unique characteristics.
With all the CA Dick, I'd imagine you could throw one against a concrete block wall and it'd bounce off and knock you cold as a wedge, and land beside you on the floor without a scratch. ;D

They only come with a limited warranty Dick I am not responsible for any damage occurring while under the influence - whether it's me or them that's doing the drinking. Hell, come to think of it, I'm not responsible period. For anything. ;D I actually dropped one of those last night on the concrete shop floor. I took it off to sand a little CA off the bottom and it was so slippery that it practically jumped out of my hands. Well...that's my story and I'm sticking to it. Anyway, I checked it out carefully and could not find any damage at all! I would not expect that to always be the case if one were dropped on concrete, but, they are very solid indeed. I'm not worried about one coming apart, even if it gets dropped.

That's hard to answer because it varies depending on how much of the material you have to remove. I buy 2 oz bottles and each one will do several cones usually. I use a band saw to get as close to the final shape as I can get.

Doug, the turnings are really something. Have you posted the process so we and copy your work? I would think the seeds would just fly everywhere. Thanks bmorto
