I had a Craftsman lathe that wasn't set up for Vacuum chucking, how ever it did have a hollow headstock spindle.Tim figured he could build an adaptor for it. He sent me an inside measuring device and instructions on how to use it.He didn't trust me to read it so he said to tape it in place and mail it back and he would read it LOL ,probably a good idea.I also sent him an aluminum bar stock blank,I think it was about 3 inches in diameter along with some teflon for seals. He furnished a steel shaft, some bearings,O-rings and the machining know how.He even anodized the finished product. He built the adaptor while I put the vacuum system together f rom parts I got here and there along with some internet directions, The adaptor slid into the spindle shaft and was held captive by forcing the o-rings in tight as hell.A vacuum hose connected to the brass fiiting and then to the filter. When all was said and done it worked like a champ.A really handy tool when doing finish work on a bowl.It too was a fun project. dick
