Just be sure you're sitting down when they tell you the price.

yeah it IS pricey!!
When I posted to Elizabeth I was looking at a YouTube demo video - no pricing info. Later I went to the website and checked $$$$$. I like to have fell out of my chair when I saw the price tag.

Ain't that amazing? Hurt my mind when I first ran across 'em a couple years ago.

Hurts my feelings too about that little device. I can see all kinds of uses for that in making pens and bottle stoppers too, but at that price it is not an option. Too bad...it would sure be a handy piece of equipment to have.

So... the solution is... to BUILD one.
We build things, right? We build neat stuff from time t'time, right? Why not?

Dozuki
some baltic birch (for us fancy types)
a little UHMW tape
3-4 hours in the shop, tops. Only tricky thing BridgeCity did was use a crank-operated elevator system. You could work something similar, i suppose - but that's gonna need a couple more parts:
threaded rod
some small sections of angle aluminum
a half dozen or so nuts.

Well after you lift it, it's raised. I see no problem, here Art - should I find the need for one, you can bet i'd do exactly that
