Some pictures of the wall in back of the house that needed to be taken care of. Brick versus contempary stone.

That turned out great and it looks totally professional. I like the little garden banner, too. LOML uses those in our planting beds and changes them seasonally.
Aren't those type retaining wall blocks neat? They dry-lay , have the little cleat to keep them from sliding, it's easy to turn corners and after the first course is laid, the rest go very quickly.

Yeah I like that.
I will be doing something similar to that in a couple of years.
Funny, but I just planted some those same yellow perennials myself today.
Nice job.

That is a great job, Law. Is that a flag pole in the center? That wall will last for years and years.

Very nice job. Goin that high with those I like to add a bead of the liquid nails sort of stuff for masonry between each course.
With our limestone filled "soil" around these parts, I would have needed Cajun fishin sticks to dig down to put in a below ground ornamental pond so I used those to stack around one of those plastic pond liners. I knocked the tabs off of the bottoms, and used the liquid nails stuff between the courses, then back filled between the pond liner and the retaining wall with sand. So far it's lasted 6 or 8 years now.

The difference between those two photos is amazing. Where are the during photos? You know, the ones that show all the sweat and dirt being throw around?
Fun and sort of a lot of work project. Certainly improved the area. I'd want to sit and admire the spot if I were there.
