Emerson and myself scored on some really great spalted pecan, as some of you already know(if you have seen the topic from last weekend).
I would like to offer my friends here at WoW a challenge!
I will send out two pieces of spalted pecan(my choice of what you receive) to the first three people that would like to turn a stopper!! I would take care of the postage...so this would only require you to use a kit and your imagination!!!
The challenge? Ah, the stoppers would need to be turned(in whatever design you see fit) and posted in the complete turning section for everyone to see. No time limit, but to keep the 'spirit of the challenge' the stoppers would need to be completed in a timely manner(let's say 2 weeks from receiving the blanks?)
Are you interested? PM me your shipping address!!!
Scott (I want to see some great stoppers) B

I don't even know how to turn a stopper yet, so I'm out.

Boodrow was the first! Zac was second! Doug was the third!
Glad you guys are going to take on this challenge. The prize....bragging rights I guess? If there was a way to do a poll and let everyone vote....
The wood will be sent out as soon as the PostOffice opens in the morning! Figure you'll get the boxes sometime on Tuesday....Wednesday at the lastest(I hope).
Good luck! And I can't wait to see the outcome......
Scott (have fun guys....) B

Ha! Well, I'll try to keep up with these veteran turners!! Prize? Heck - the spalted pecan is prize enough!! I'm plenty happy just seeing what other guys do with the same wood. I'll make sure to have plenty o' burn lines on mine! hehe, j/k! Zac

Kind of wierd.... The box had so much room...what to do?
To the three lucky guys....I don't like using newspaper for package material. So I did the following!
Box includes: 2-pcs Spalted Pecan 1-pc Maple Crotch 1-pc Arkansas Black Walnut
Now I know that the Pecan is ready to turn, but the Maple and Walnut probably is not.....your choice to turn or let it sit until you feel it's time for it. Just waiting on the PostOffice to open now....hate waiting.
Scott (box is heavier now) B
