Here's what happens when you stand it up at 45 degrees in the miter saw and cut ordinary miter cuts (no bevel), and how it assembles (the four assembled pieces really slope at exactly 45 degrees, and meet properly in the center): The attic, looking up:

God, you are a dream. Thank you!!!!! Will practice this afternoon. I've made two little boxes with the last blank. I finally got it right and then messed it up when I lowered it onto the belt-sander to clean it up!! I must not have held it level and it sanded thicker on one side than the other. I tried compensating for this to no avail. Then tried it by hand sanding. No way. I ended up with a 16Th (at best) to a 32 of wood! Tried mitering anyway and the blanks just broke up on me. About to pop a cork. Had one too many... ;D To salvage the pieces I but-jointed them. They are a little crooked and I'll see how I can level them. I want to make little roofs for them. Will show you how it turns out. Thanks again!
