"Odoriferous". That's one of my favorite words. I may be wrong, but I think Alumilite is too "fast" for wood stabilization. It's got a pot life of only 7 minutes.

Tim, you got some interesting thoughts there, and we will definitely have to re-visit this subject one of these days when I get some other things taken care of. I really need to find a way to stabilize pine cones... What about ultraclear Alumilite, Doug? Alumilite's supposed to be pretty easy to work with, and no odoriferous olfactory emanations (unlike Polyester Resin)! Thanks Andrew, but, I am a little hesitant to try Alumilite because I tried some Alumilite cast pen blanks once and they just did not polish up like PR does. And, I think it is more along the lines of "casting" rather than stabilizing, and still needs the same kind of setup for pressure, or vacuum. I looked into it quite a bit a while back and almost tried it, but never quite convinced myself that it was going to be the solution I was looking for. I still might try it once I get the pressure pot put together.
