Well, today, during all of the deleriously crappy weather we have had for the past 2 days, a box showed up at my door! It looked a little like this when it arrived, but this is it before it leaves my place: It was busting at the seams when it arrived, soI figured I'd send it back out that way! Here is what was in her when she was opened: I found one MAJOR problem with this swap. You have to take too much out for what you are putting in, LOL. And, you have to be a master packer to get everything in there so it won't bust the box too badly and the post office will still take her. I put more stuff in the box, and was really forced to take some stuff out that I would have liked to have left in there. I had more stuff to add that I would have liked to have added, but there was just no room left in that box. When the box was opened from DougB there was 2 tiny pieces of newspaper and a small piece of bubble wrap in there for padding. There was almost no room for padding when I sent it, the bubble wrap stayed in out of necessity, but the paper went. I did have to put a piece of paper in there though to make sure the tape didn't stick to the rules from the box not closing all of the way, LOL. I took out the following: 2 - euro kits 1 - EEE polish Accelerator Debonder 2 plastic cases 20 assorted blanks I hope the next person on the list enjoys it as well as I did, can't wait for the 2nd trip around! It's like Christmas ain't it Emerson?! ;D I was really glad to see you were turning again after I sent the box. I figured we needed to get some of your spalted stuff in the box ASAP ;D I gotta warn you about that coffee bean blank,,,that is a tough one to turn - I did 2 of them and had to use lots of thin CA to keep the beans from coming apart while turning them. I think Monty put that blank in the box as a prank...I prolly just ruined it for him This has been a blast. I'm looking forward to round number 2 also. P.S. I think that big blank from Monty with the question marks on it is Jatoba...aka Brazilian Cherry. It looks just like some I have, so that is my guess.

DougB, if round two happens, I hope to get the box before you! Gonna fill it full of Black Palm.....that'd be just wrong.

Oh Scott, I've already had my battles with Red Palm trying to make a cross cut pen and it was not pretty. I only got one barrel of a slimline done and never did get around to making the second barrel because the first one was so frustrating.
So, don't put any Black Palm in the box expecting me to pull it out and try it - I now my limitations ;D

Suuuwweeeeetttt
See I told you that teeeny flat rate envelope would not work.
This is going egggzzactly the way I expected it to go.
Nice.
I should make a google MAP with the route the traveling box is making.

The coffee bean is one I cast myself. If you haven't turned a coffee bean blank before, PM me for tips. They can be difficult.

I should make a google MAP with the route the traveling box is making. That's an excellent idea Leo! And yeah, you were right about the large box...it's a whole lot more fun with all that stuff in it and a small flat rate box would be very limited.

Yes Doug, it was just like Christmas. I have thought about a couple things in the box that I might could use now (ie. Zac's adapter), but after sealing it up, it was too much of a pain in the butt packing everything in there that I probably won't take it back apart, LMAO.
Zac do you remember the thread count on the small part of that adapter? Is it 24 tpi? If it is, I might have to tear back into that box, as I could then use my chuck on my new bigger lathe.

It's a PSI bottle stopper chuck - it's 1" x 8 tpi
The threaded stud that goes into the stopper blank is (I believe) 3/8" but can't remember the threads - it's pretty standard whatever it is.
Emerson - I encourage you to open the box and take it - it's super simple way to turn stoppers!

OK, consider it taken out as well, LOL. Now, should I have kept that ................... for stoppers? Hopefully someone will use it!

Keep this going and the post office will drop the "It Fits, It Ships" policy!
Looking good fellas.

Also, I forgot to let you guys know. Triplefreak deleted his forum account, so if he's on the 'ship to' list, I don't know how you fellas will want to handle that. Same with the pen trade too.

Uh oh! Hopefully whatever issues TF has with some folks on the forum, he will not let that effect this great little mystery box swap. There are some really great guys still on the list that do not deserve to miss out on all the fun.

This is a MEMBERS only!
Did this go to triplefreak?
If it was not shipped to him - that's ok, but whoever it was shipped to should be contacted.
If it was shipped to triplefreak - I might have some contact info at home.
Just tell me if it went to him, and I will do whatever I can.
If It was not shipped to him - please remove him from the list.
Also - perhaps we should be using delivery confirmation - at least we can track the box if it gets lost.
