YES! I think that is one COOL bench! I've been drooling over it for a long time... don't have the space! IT IS SO DAMNED SLOW IT'S PATHETIC! IT SUCKS BIG TIME IMHO! I WASTE SO MUCH TIME JUST WAITING FOR THINGS TO LOAD! ... and I'm paying money for that kind of chit!  They are so damned slow in getting anything done also... it has been over a year and they're saying a New Website in August... I'll believe that when I see it! |

This looks kind of handy. Like a pocket on a shirt! That bench is pretty innovative. I especially like the way that two pipe clamps can ge inset from the side to make a wide clamp. I think benches are probably the most personal item in a workshop. What suits one person to a TEE may not be ideal for another. There was a FWW article recently where a furnituremaker in Maine basically used two sawhorses with a long torsion box clamped to it for a bench. He said it was much more versatile than his dad's traditionsl Sjoberg-type bench. While I have a bench, I find myself working more often on the outfeed table of my TS. I've got a little wooden-jawed vise there that does 90% of material holding for me.  |

Joe,
I agree that FWW's site can be frustrating sometimes but it's still by far the most informative woodworking site on the net, IMHO. They have articles and videos covering EVERYTHING there. I love it.

Joe, I agree that FWW's site can be frustrating sometimes but it's still by far the most informative woodworking site on the net, IMHO. They have articles and videos covering EVERYTHING there. I love it. That's why I am still paying extra for the Online benefits... ;D ;D ;D ... just SO Frustrating at times... (most of the time)...  |
