I usually leave it at least 24 hours, sometimes longer for big chuncks. Pen blanks and bottle stoppers I would go with 24 hours. However, in thinking about your BWE, it is very dense so I would leave it longer - maybe 48 hours to make sure the DNA has a chance to get all the way into the wood.
Did the wax boil off the wood when you boiled it? The wax was why I did not recommend DNA from the start - that might prevent the DNA from soaking in. If it still looks waxy you might want to trim it first before dunking it in DNA.
I'm anxious to see how this ends up working out for you Boodrow because some day I'm going to need to get some more BWE and it will be nice to know how to deal with it if it is not cured. I wonder if this is a common concern with BWE?

Doug the wax did boil off the wood durin the boilin process. The wood actually looked like it had been bleached when it dried. I also checked it with my low dollar moisture meter. The ends were about 12% , in the center the meter still pegged out at 22% , so that does explain the wood cracking. If this is the norm issue with it , I wont buy anymore of it. Allready paid 3.50 per blank. Boiled it , now soakin in DNA . If I had to do that everytime I wouldnt mess with it again. Boodrow
