Pieces and parts laminated pen

I had a bunch of odd and ends left over from some other pens and I wanted to try and put a few of them together. I'm not too sure about this one - it may be a little too much for a single pen.

Rattle Snake, Turquoise, and White Marble, with some Bloodwood and pick guard accents.

Watch when someone picks that one up....bet they try to hold it where the rattlesnake piece is! I would probably pick it up and do that(my eye is drawn to that section).

Cool idea, you can't throw away all those little pieces either? Got them in a small container myself!



Overall, I like it! But the rattlesnake is to dark for the rest of the pen......and you eyes get drawn there real quick. The hardware compliments everything on the pen though. It'll sell quickly.......to the right person.

I really like the top barrel. I would like to see one like that on both ends. the pickguard/bloodwood goes very good with wht truestone

Doug that is different , got some good looks to it. Im sure it will sell , because it is very unique. Also a fine finish job on it.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I made the lower barrel first and really liked it until I got the top barrel done for it. Then, for some reason it did not quite look right.

Scott, I made a similar one once and it was sold right away so I'm hoping that will happen again, but then this one is a little too busy for my likes. I think I should have left off the Turquoise Trustone.

Mave, I agree that the top barrel has really got the better look to it. In fact, I may just make another lower barrel like it and combine the two. Then I'll have to figure out another top barrel to go with the rattle snake lower barrel.

But I'm going to have to wait for some more scraps that will work - specifically I need some more of that White Marble Trustone - I really like that stuff and need to order some more of it soon.

Well I have ordered some more of the White Marble Trustone from Woodturningz, but I made this pen with antler instead of the Trustone using that design you liked Mav. I do like it a lot! Thanks for the feedback.

it looks great doug. I have heard a lot of people say they like the laminated or two tone type pens the best. I think you did a fantastic job on this one.
