This wood is absolutely wonderful and comes courtesy of Deep Splinter (Dave). Thanks Dave! Black chrome plating is what I chose to compliment the black spalting lines in the wood.

I agree - the black chrome hardware is a really good choice for the spalting....man - that spalting came out to a gorgeous, dark black.

I agree Doug, something about using the wood that came from another forum member is special. I've started a "private reserve" of special blanks. These are blanks that are not available as my regular ol' "table pens". Not saying that I would never sell one of the pens - but they would more likely be used as a personal gift to someone or a family member.

Thanks Zac and Mav! I am doing the same thing Zac, I've got a bunch of pen blanks lying around with names and descriptions written on them so I can keep track of what they are and where they came from. Some antlers too
