Thanks for the link, Rob. I've gotta start collecting books for my grandson soon. He's already got a tremendous vocabulary for only 15 months and I want him to learn from books, not just TV.

Thanks for the link, Rob. I've gotta start collecting books for my grandson soon. He's already got a tremendous vocabulary for only 15 months and I want him to learn from books, not just TV. I think that's a noble goal. Report after report shows that children whose caretakers read to them fare much better in so many areas of their lives. Up until recently at home, we resisted ALL television for my son, and even now he only gets to see a small handful of specific half hour shows a week under very limited circumstances. We are fortunate to be able to not rely on television as a babysitter, and instead have the ability to spend many hours a week reading with him. There aren't too many good books for under 5 year-olds related in some way to woodworking. Gotta pick and choose.

That reminds me of that commercial on the PBS channel where Norm is reading a book to the little kid..along with others also.....lol
