Just gotta gloat about this one. Found an ad on CL for rough cut oak and walnut lumber. Advertised as 175 bf of walnut for $225 and $1 a bf for the oak (approx 300bf). Had to take all the walnut and whatever amount of oak I wanted. I got the entire stack along with about 40bf of cedar for $300. Tha walnut is mostly shorts, 2-6 ft, and 4/4 to 12/4 thickness. The oak is 10-12 ft and 5/4 to 12/4 thickness. The seller said all of it was kiln dried to >10%. Thanks for letting me gloat... Scott

I'd say ya done good, Scott.
Around here walnut is $5/bf, and red oak is $3/bf. (+-)
Do you have plans for it, or just gittin it while the gittin's good?

Wanted the walnut for a planned project (spice chest) and the oak was just cause it was cheap. I may sell some of it to lessen the cost even more.

Looks like $2000 to me. A stack like that for $300 would be worth driving to pick up from here!

Hmmm...even the dog is suspect.

Finally got it unloaded. The dog is correct to be suspect. There was only 250 bf (+/-) of the oak. 9 of the boards are 5/4x12.25"x12' and clear, 1 is 12/4x9"x12' and clear. There is more walnut than 175bf but most of it is shorts. Think I should carry it back and demand my money back? Scott
