gecko lacewood classic roller

This blank was one gecko sent I think it was marked as lacewood. Kit is from woodcraft. Classic gold rollerball. I kinda like this kit, although the new psi classic elites are next on my list. ;D

Looks great Mav. That kit looks a whole lot like the PSI classic. I have done a few of the PSI fountain pens and have 2 roller balls to try out. Actually, I tried the roller ball tip on one of the fountain pens and it fit just fine...I'm thinking they are interchangeable. That made me order some more of them because you can easily change the pen to whichever someone wants - fountain pen or roller ball.

yep I figured that out yesterday. The new owner will get to choose either rollerball or fountian tip. or both if they want em both.

Nice one, I have a lot of the Classics, but like you i am looking for another newer type to try in that price range. I do change to-fro between the FP and RB but i only interchange with the gold because you can only buy the black housing. Carl

This is a sharp looking pen.... it almost looks like red palm... pretty cool!

I was thinking the same thing after it was done. Turns a lot different though

looks good. How was that lacewood to turn? I am kind of curious.

turned pretty easy. There was a lot of tear out at first but once round it went pretty smooth. of course I sharpened up the gouge once it was round. May have helped some. I really like the textured look of this wood.

I think it looks better turned than it does in the flat.
