In the LA Times, there was an article about Toyota. The article described how if a Prius has HID (High Intensity Discharge) head light, the electronics turn it off and on as a feature to indicate that it is time to replace the HID bulb.
(No I'm not kidding)
Unfortunately, sometimes the electronics doesn't turn the light back on. That is a series of NTSB complaints.
So the joke starts like this:
How many Toyota engineers does it take to determine that the HID headlight needs replacing?
None, because the police will do it before the engineers can figure it out.
==========================
That's the only one that I could think of and it's not very funny.
HOWEVER
This group of cynics could come up with much funnier ones than I could.
Dive in guys and gals!

They have figured it out!
When the headlights start to fail, the throttle is opened up and the brakes won't work! When the car hits something the lights get replaced.....along with the rest of the frontend(hmmmm, might need to work on that next)
