These 2 are part of a 4 pen order, so 2 down, 2 more to go... First is a Mesquite Classic Twist pen - gunmetal finish. And the other side of the pen. Next is just a very, very nice BOW Classic Twist. Hard to believe, but both barrels are from the same piece of wood. And the other side.

Very nice. For some reason, of all the pen types I've turned, the Classic personally appeals to me the best so far.

Thanks Rob.
I like the looks of the Classic and it is the pen that fits my hand best too. I like the Fountain Pen too, and I have a couple of the Classic Roller Ball kits to try out soon. I'm a fan.

Both great pens, I'm partial to the BOW....that top barrel is NICE!!
I just turned another BOW, they turn sooo nice, IMO.
Can't wait to see the other two pens of the order!

I agree Zac. BOW is very nice wood. Easy to turn, smells great, and fantastic looking. This BOW blank came from our very own Monty. Yes, he has great BOW in addition to the CA glue

Yeah yeah...good lookin' pens there Doug...as usual.
BUT...I don't speak "lathe" and I damn sure don't follow your abbreviations.
What is BOW?
And..."gunmetal finish"...is that the "hardware"?

BOW = Bethlehem Olive Wood... type that a few times, BOW will seem normal Gun Metal - yep - that is a finish color for pen kits. Most common slim-line (the thinner style kits) are: Chrome, Gun Metal, Black Chrome, and Satin Pearl.... gun metal is in between chrome and black chrome.... kinda smokey. It is a pretty safe bet with about any type of wood - but REALLY looks good with some woods, BOW is one of them, in my opinion...... Black Chrome might also look really nice depending on the grain of the blank. Class adjourned! Zac

I like them both.... but if I had to pick just one, I'd go with the BOW. Seems the lighter tone of the wood against the gun metal finished hardware looks, well it just POPS! at you.
