After much discussion and head scratching and shuffling of the feet, we've finally got a means with which to accept donations should you see fit to encourage us
So - for now, it's in the very very early stages and we'll surely have to work out a few kinks. I ask for everyone's patience while we work through the processes and mechanisms. We've got a goal to have a nice easy donations form for folks to contribute to if they want but we need to get things rolling first.
Donations are NOT required but very much appreciated. We humbly accept any amount you're willing to give. We're only taking PayPal at this time. For those of you unwilling to use PayPal, we understand and would ask that you accept our appreciation for what time you can provide in helping make this forum run smoothly. It's just more work for us to handle a paper-trail right now. Thanks for understanding.
Please note - this is not a pledge drive. We've got a good supply for the next few months but it's always good to keep a reserve.
For the moment, our only major expense is keeping the ads off. That's done using Ad-Free credits provided by ProBoards itself. It basically runs $7 for 50,000 page views. We go through 2 or 3 packs of these per month for about $21/mo. The busier we are, the more we'll need, of course.
Okay - so here's how it works:
Donation Instructions
For the time being, we have setup a PayPal account. You can donate to the forum by sending money in PayPal to our World of Wood address:
worldofwood [at] beamerweb [dot] com
Substitute the at and dot characters, of course.
In the future, I'll be working out a "Donate" button that we can use instead of the Ad-Free link at the bottom of the page. I'll let everyone know when that day comes.
Please do not use the "Click Here to make this board ad-free" link - if we have to move, they don't give refunds so any unused ad-free credits would be lost money.
For the time being, I am acting treasurer for WoW until we get things configured and working smoothly. That's your warning that we'll be fishing for a Treasurer someday. Nobody's safe! LOL!
Thanks for all of your kind feedback, everyone. We do try to keep things moving along nicely as best we can and we appreciate all the help you've offered.
