Part ONE

Well I started it.
It's interesting how - when making fully detailed plans that the finished plans will differ ever so slightly from the actual cuts. Ohh, not by much - but a little.
Plywood - is not the thickness you want it to be. Yeah I knew that during the designing - but I didn't account for it. Not a real big deal - I let the design govern the final dimensions. Maybe I will go back and fix the model - which will in turn update all the detail drawings. I hope to make the plans available after all is said and done.
Sorry - but I have not yet prepared the pics - of documentation. That is a lot of work, and I just have not taken the time yet to organize it. I will. And yes - I did take a boatload of pics.
I worked on it a couple of days - at a snails pace I made the legs and much of the side assemblies. I glued up the legs to side last night.
This process will most likely take me a couple of months to complete. Cause I am getting old and slow and lazy.
As to the design intent -- I wanted something that would maximize the space in the babies room. I wanted both cabinet space, and drawers - in a unique, but not odd look. I like plain.
I looked around furniture stores - took pictures, examined construction. I didn't really like all of what I saw.
My design is -mine-. Yes, it is a little different, but it is a good design. I am not a furniture builder, but I am fully capable of design engineering. I know know squat about furniture design, except from reading books, and hanging around forums.
OK - OK - I know you will all get in a tizzy with all the reading and no pics - so here's a few just to whet you whistle.
The side assemblies are not completed.
I will post a documented start to end build a bit later.
